The main road (Springvale Road) is fairly busy, and is served by regular buses coming every 20 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays and every hour on Sundays and bank holidays. This also homes an active youth football club for all ages both boys and girls. There is a small primary school and the local recreation ground, with playground/fitness equipment and football pitches and a basketball/football court, is very popular.

The village also holds a Sports & Social Club and a village hall which is home to the Drama group. It has a variety of local shops and convenience stores which fit in perfectly with the area. Parts of Kings Worthy and the whole of Abbots Worthy are designated Conservation Areas. This type design has been turned into Social Club JNL, and is available in both regular and oblique versions. The rural settlement of Abbots Worthy is the smaller of the two villages and lies to the east of urban Kings Worthy. Social Club JNL The movie poster for the 1934 comedy/crime drama Jimmy the Gent (starring James Cagney) featured the title hand lettered in an ultra-bold Art Deco sans serif style. The villages of Kings Worthy and Abbots Worthy lie approximately 2 miles (3.2km) to the north of Winchester, on the edge of the chalk lands of the Hampshire Downs.
