Apple released that driver as Open Source and therefore I recompiled it for newer macOS versions. However, it was removed in a later version. In old macOS versions a driver supporting various GPS loggers has been integrated. USB CDC is a standard protocol for USB communication devices. The following GPS loggers are known to need this driver: Locosys GT-11,Locosys GT-31, Gisteq PhotoTrackr mini (DPL900), Royaltek RGM-2300, Royaltek RGM-3800, Navin MiniHomer, Ventus GPS Route Logger G730, Dörr GPS Photo Logger, Photomate 887, Canmore GT-730, Canmore GT-750F CDC They also provide a driver that needs to be installed in order to use the logger with myTracks: The following GPS loggers are known to need this driver: Holux GPSport 245, Wintec WBT-100, Wintec WBT-200, Wintec WBT-201, Wintec WSG-1000 (G-Tender), G-Rays 2, Qstarz BT-Q1000, Qstarz BT-Q1300, QStarz BT-100, iBlue 747, iTrek Z1, Magellan SporTrak, Magellan Meridian, Magellan Explorist, NaviGPS, Visiontac VGPS-900, XAiOX iTrackU, Gisteq PhotoTrackr Lite (DPL700), Gisteq PhotoTrackr (CD111), SkyTraq Venus PL2303Īnother popular GPS chip is the PL2303 provided by Prolific Technology Inc. Therefore, you need to install the driver provided by Silicon Labs: Some GPS loggers use a GPS chip developed by Silicon Labs. It is no problem to install all drivers as they are not loaded if not needed. Therefore, you may need to try which driver works with your device. Note: There may exist different variants of the same logger that need different drivers. The following sections explain these drivers and list the corresponding GPS loggers. Some GPS loggers can be used with myTracks without the need to install any driver.
